ALF Summer School for Grades 1-6 at Palm Crest Elementary

Palm Crest Elementary (PCR)
5025 Palm Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011

For over 40 years, Assistance League of Flintridge has held ALF Summer School at one of the elementary schools in the La Cañada Unified School District.  This year, we are pleased to be located at Palm Crest Elementary School.  ALF Summer School is administered by Assistance League of Flintridge members who are volunteers.  Many of the teachers, aides and principals come from the district and nearby areas. Many also return year after year to be part of the program.  During the summer, students are encouraged to participate “for the joy of learning” and there is no homework.

ALF Summer School will be held for four weeks from June 17 through July 12, 2024.  No school July 4 or 5 due to the Independence holiday.  Classes will be held on Wednesday, June 19, Juneteenth.  Summer School classes are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.  Students can choose up to three subjects that are of the most interest to them and will move between classes and outdoor breaks during their morning routines.  Classes are designed to be engaging and fun while reinforcing concepts learned during the school year.

ALF Summer School students will access Palm Crest Elementary through the Palm Drive entrance.  Further details about the campus including Car Line instructions will be included in the Welcome Packet sent to families in June.

For those students who will need childcare after ALF Summer School, the Child Educational Center will be on-site at Palm Crest Elementary to provide activities for those who sign up.  Visit the CEC website for more information and holiday closures.
